Law For Locals has extensive mediation experience. We charge $150 per hour for mediation (that is generally split equally between two parties), making it a truly cost-effective and expedient solution.

Divorce mediation

A “mediated divorce” is the best way to divorce without drama.

If you file for divorce and have differences with your soon-to-be-ex-partner, the court will make you go to mediation. What’s that, you ask? Mediation means that you will work with a neutral third-party to resolve your differences without some person in a black robe deciding your fate (and your children’s fates) for you.

A “mediated divorce” occurs when both parties agree to work together with a mediator to talk through all of the required court paperwork and get it done. Unlike working with an attorney, who works for just one of the parties, getting divorced with the help of a mediator means that you have the help of someone who is neither party’s “advocate,” but instead, who acts as “Switzerland,” identifying problems and helping you settle them amicably and move on with your lives sooner.
